I’m really happy to announce that tomorrow I start working at Figment!

I’m sure I’ll be meeting cool people and learning a lot from them. I’m also really excited to work on new projects and getting my feet wet with new technologies.

It feels nice to start a new journey and be part of a creative team, I’m going to make the best of it.

Open Multiple FlashDevelop Instances

Open Multiple FlashDevelop Instances

If you ever find yourself trying to compile multiple projects at the same time and don’t want to be switching between them in the same FlashDevelop window, just open a new instance of FlashDevelop.

If you are like me and didn’t go into the advanced options when installing FlashDevelop, where you can check a Multi Instance Mode option, there’s no need to reinstall FlashDevelop.

What you need to do is manually create the flag file “.multi” in the same directory where FlashDevelop was installed.

The easiest way to accomplish this is to use Notepad:

  • Open Notepad as Administrator
  • Save an empty file with whatever name you like inside the FlashDevelop directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\FlashDevelop
  • Rename it to “.multi.” (NOTICE the second period and the lack of extension)

This little renaming trick will effectively give you the “.multi” file we’re looking for. Windows doesn’t allow the lack of a file name when renaming files using the Explorer but it does allow file names to start with a period and have a lack of extension.

Job Interview

Today I had a job interview at Figment, a pretty cool place to work. They make all kinds of creative works for big clients: TV ads, interactive websites, mobile apps, video games, marketing campaigns, etc.

I’m not sure if I will get the job but it was a good learning experience. I know much about Flash and I’m capable of getting things done, but there are some technologies I need to start leaning and making demos with. Specifically PHP and MySQL connected with Flash, and also more HTML5 projects.

Anyways, it’s too soon to tell what’s going to happen, in the meantime I’ll keep on working on my own and learning these technologies.

It’s Alive!

inCreactive.com is officially live!

I’m still working on some finishing touches related to the design, specifically the logo,  but overall I’m happy with the initial content.

I have 5 of my latest projects on display in the work section, five posts on this blog and a concise introduction and a list of my skill set in the about section.

In short, this will be my professional/personal blog as well as my portfolio.

Have a nice stay and subscribe if you’d like.

Flash Online Conference #10

inCreactive Flash

I stumbled across these online meetings just a couple of months ago, when I saw a cool demo shared on EffectHub.com made by Sergey Gonchar, the organizer of these events.

The conferences basically consist of news and demos about the latest features introduced into the Flash & Adobe AIR platforms.

The next meeting is happening in 2 days and it will be my first live attendance.  I’m really excited because there will be 9 speakers and half of them will be talking about Stage3D topics.

A Blood Moon Eclipse

Blood Moon Eclipse October 8 2014

Today I saw a full moon eclipse! It was a great show and it lasted longer than a solar eclipse because the earth is about 4 times bigger than the moon, and thus it can cast a shadow on the moon for much longer.

The red color comes from the Sun’s light refracting in the Earth’s atmosphere.

It was awesome.

Welcome to my website!

I’m going to be using it mainly as a portfolio and a personal blog.
I’ve learned and enjoyed a lot from others on the Internet, it’s time for me to give back and make a name for myself.

Here’s to the future!
